A 19th century bracelet with original turquoise clasp, The bracelet is set in pinchbeck which was a method used during the Georgian era as a top-secret formula that looked and wore just like gold. Pinchbeck jewellery is highly valued and collectable in it own right. In the 18th century London Christopher Pinchbeck invented Pinchbeck as substitute for gold.
